Buggyfit is a post-natal exercise class lead by a specialist post-natal instructor so you know you are getting back your post baby fitness in a safe way with the added extra benefit of the class being outdoors in the beautiful Pittville Park.

The class lasts an hour and we stop at various points around Pittville Park to carry out exercises using resistance bands and benches that will give you an all over body workout.

The exercises will improve posture, strength, aerobic fitness and general wellbeing resulting in a strong post baby body ready to move onto further exercise and activity.

You and your baby will also feel the benefit of being outdoors for an hour and although you have come to exercise, there’s plenty of time for a chat making it a sociable event too.

I carry out a tummy muscle check for muscle separation (diastasis) to ensure you know what level of exercise you should be working at. I will advise on things to avoid if necessary that will possibly make it worse, and how you can improve the situation by focussing on certain exercises.

With my background as a musculoskeletal physio, you are also in good hands to receive hints and tips on helping to manage any aches and pain that may occur following the birth of your baby.

FAQs

  • Do I have to book?

You do not need to book a space, you can just turn up as long as you have had your post natal check with your GP or be 12 weeks post c section. To check if there are any class changes, particularly around school holidays, visit the Facebook/Instagram page.

  • Do you meet in all weathers?

Yes, I am at the Pump Rooms in all weathers.  However, if there is very high winds or bad ice I will cancel and post this on Facebook and Instagram.

  • What happens if my baby cries?

Most of the babies that come have had a cry at some point, I have rocked most buggies at some point while mums exercise.  However, if your baby does need a cuddle, that’s fine to pick them up or if you need to stop and feed there are plenty of benches around the park.

  • How old can my child be?

You can bring a child up to school age as long as they can either sit in the buggy while you exercise or get round the park in another way – bike or scooter.  We move around the park to exercise in different spots so they need to be mobile.

  • Can I bring more than one child?

You can bring a baby/older one in a buggy and an older one on a bike/scooter as long as they can get round the park on it.
